"It's version two, but done right." — imminium
Overview[]
Stone-Haven County Asylum's third version is the fourth major update, developed mostly by imminium by himself. Version three was a completely different overhaul with the intent of keeping the essence of version two, including the overhaul of the surface facility but with an entirely new underground facility.
History[]
During its lifetime of version two, KozKuma brought forward the idea of a potential third version of the game which was still a faint idea at the time. Both imminium and KozKuma debated about it but decided to put it aside for the time being.
When imminium was about to begin another major update that originally involved an overhaul to all the coding work that was about a year old, some serious setbacks were involved that eventually derailed their plans into starting the next biggest project: version three.
It was shortly announced in the community server and was also attached to the dedicated Trello roadmap. Imminium's intention for this was to clean up the game and redo version two properly, as a result of all the past mistakes made during the development of version two.
Development on the third version began on November 3rd, 2021. It was initially developed under a private place before it reached the Development Branch, as it was still a barebones place. Progress for the first few weeks was at a steady pace, with leaks and images posted on both the community server and more often in the private Engineering Department server.
Imminium then announced the release of version three on the publicly available Development Branch on February 3rd, 2022, exactly four months after development started. Its reception was highly acclaimed by most of the high ranks. At this time, some high ranks decide to host tours around the new map, as it was (and still is) confusing to navigate the underground facility.
